Oblates and Friends

The WCCM Oblate Path is a contemporary contemplative way of living an ancient option in the monastic tradition. The World Community is ecumenical but recognizes a special relationship to the Benedictine vision which was the first in the Church to form a stable form of religious life and has adapted in succeeding generations to the needs and qualities of the age.

The wisdom of the Rule of St Benedict helps meditators shape a lifestyle that grows from and supports daily practice and the integration of all aspects of one’s life, family, work, friends, social responsibility. Becoming an oblate can be a way of deepening and stabilizing the process of personal spiritual flourishing.

The Oblate Path booklet will help to see what the oblate life might mean for you. Download the Oblate Path booklet by clicking on the image below.
