You will find it helpful to sustain your practice if you meditate with a group once a week. Groups of meditators meet in person, in towns and villages all over the world, including Ireland. This creates opportunities for those who meditate regularly to meet with others who do likewise. Groups also provide an opportunity for those who are new to the practice and wish to consider adopting it to find out more in a friendly, easy-going manner.
Groups meet online too. The number of online groups has grown since the Covid pandemic and while some have now resumed as in-person groups, others remain online. So if you have access to a computer, a tablet or a smart phone you can join in from wherever you are.
Meetings often have a short talk on the practice prior to the meditation. These talks may be taken from online or from CDs by John Main, Laurence Freeman or others or the leader may simply read a short passage for the group. There is a wide range of talks available online and the transcripts of the talks can be downloaded as well, all for free!

One of the few silver linings in the cloud that was the Covid-19 pandemic was the development of meditation groups online.
Christian Meditation Ireland facilitates two online meditation sessions each week on Wednesday and Sunday evenings at 7:30 p.m. Irish time. There are many international groups too on the WCCM website.
