Children Newsletter January 2023

As we start a new year it is easy to feel a little overwhelmed by all the work that remains to be done this year. Yet we can only live life day by day and it is so important every day to take time to simply be. This is especially important for children.

Meditation is a gift for life that gives rise to practical benefits and deep fruits in their lives. Practicing meditation across the whole school generates fruits for the whole school community. Have you restarted meditation with the children in your class this term? If not yet, why not begin today?

We are creating a short weekly opportunity for teachers to meditate together and to chat about their experience of  meditation with children in the classroom. It will take place on Tuesday evenings from 8 – 8:30 p.m..(Irish time) You don’t have to join in every week, just whenever you can. We will begin on the first Tuesday after the mid-term Tuesday, 21 Feb 2023 at 8 p.m. You can log in any time after 7:50. We will start at 8 p.m. and finish at 8:30.

If you would like to try it out, please email meditationandchildren@gmail.com Why not do it now before you forget! You can unsubscribe at any time.

Time Out for YOU!

Being, not Doing

This short video, which is designed for young children, explores how meditation is our response to the call of Love. We experience this call and response in the heart rather than the mind.

We wrote a special song for our meditation timers. Sung by Caroline Kay, it is named ‘Love is Calling’. You can download the track by clicking here for the short version and here for the longer version.
