Christian Meditation Ireland will participate in the World Meeting of Families which takes place in Dublin from 22nd to 25th August next at the RDS in Dublin. This important international event, which brings together families from across the world together to celebrate, pray and reflect upon the importance of family as the cornerstone of society and the Catholic Church. We will be involved on two levels. Firstly, in promoting the practice of meditation – in particular, meditation with children; to this end we have been invited to participate in facilitating the children’s programme at the gathering and we are delighted to do so.We will also have an exhibition stand for Christian Meditation Ireland and we are asking for your help in tending the stand, answering queries from those attending the gathering who would like to find out more about the practice of Christian meditation. We need volunteers to help us at our stand and we would love to hear from anyone who intends to visit the gathering on any of the three days. If you intend to be there, would you be willing to give a few hours assisting at the exhibition stand on the day you visit? You will appreciate that we will need plenty of cover over the three days, so any time you can give to help us will be greatly appreciated. If you think you could help us for a few hours on 22nd , 23rd, or 24th August, please contact Eithne White to let her know what day(s) you will be attending, when you would be willing to assist us and for how long. Friday 16 - Sunday 18 October 2015: “Essential Teaching Weekend” at Ennismore Retreat Centre, Ennismore, Montenotte, Cork. The weekend is suitable for Group Leaders and meditators of at least one year’s practice. The aim of an Essential Teaching Weekend (ETW) is to support and nurture meditators. Given the nature of the weekend, places are limited to 24 participants.
The weekend will provide an opportunity to re-familiarise participants with the core teaching on meditation and how best to present this teaching to various different community groups. The spirit of the weekend is relaxed and friendly yet informative. Participants raise questions, share experience, learn about new aspects of meditation and then put it all together in a way that will enrich and strengthen their practice.
This is a residential weekend, an experience (all be it short) of community and contemplative living. For Enquiries / Booking, contact:   Sile O’Connor, 087 6838537 sile.terry@gmail.com
